Terms of Service
Effective 2026-11-07
This is the version effective 2026-11-07.It takes effect on 2026-11-07 (announced 2026-10-23). See the current version
This is an English translation of the Korean terms. Where the two differ, the Korean version prevails to the extent permitted by the law that applies to you. Nothing in these terms takes away rights that the consumer law of your country gives you and that cannot be waived.
These terms set the conditions for using Five Seats (the “service”) provided by Nawi (sole proprietor Gidong Lee, “we”). When you confirm “I am 14 or older and agree to the Terms” at sign-up, you agree to these terms, and we record the version and the time. Matters not covered here follow the applicable law.
1. What the service does
Five Seats gives each person one room. Up to five people, including you, share it. The size of the room (two to five) is set when it is created and does not change.
Each room has one shared conversation. Depending on the screen, a quiet nudge that leaves a trace without sending a message may also be offered. There are no read receipts and no obligation to reply.
There are no feeds, recommendations, likes, followers or public profiles.
2. Accounts
- You sign in with a six-digit code sent to your email address. There is no password.
- You may sign up only with an email address you are entitled to use.
- People under 14 may not use the service.
- You are responsible for keeping others from using a device that holds your sign-in code or session.
- If you lose access to your email address, you lose your account. With no password there is also no other recovery method.
- You can end this agreement at any time by deleting your account in settings.
- Your account and the rights attached to it (including items you bought) are for you only and may not be sold, lent or transferred.
- We may refuse sign-up, or restrict use if we learn of it later, when someone tries to sign up with another person’s email address, or when someone whose account was deleted or suspended for breaking these terms tries to sign up again to avoid that measure.
3. Rooms and seats
- You can belong to only one room. While you are in a room you cannot create a new one or join another.
- The inviting person creates a room code and passes it on; the invitee takes a seat by entering it. A code can be used once, within 10 minutes.
- Anyone can leave a room at any time. The seat becomes empty and the room size stays the same. A room disappears when the last person leaves. If the person who created the room leaves or deletes their account, the room stays as long as others remain.
- If you leave and come back, the count of days together starts again from 1.
- Blocking another user means leaving the room you shared with them.
4. What you must not do
- Harassment, threats, hate speech, sexual exploitation, or content harmful to children
- Repeatedly sending messages or photos that cause fear or distress to someone who does not want them, disrupting their daily life
- Impersonating others (including the operator), or posting other people’s information or photos without consent
- Using or trying to obtain someone else’s account or sign-in code
- Posting obscene material, illegally filmed material, or other information whose distribution the law prohibits
- Infringing copyright or other rights of others
- Advertising, spam, or automated mass sign-ups
- Trading accounts or purchased items for money or goods
- Circumventing the service or putting excessive load on it, uploading malicious code, or reverse-engineering the app to extract its source
Nudges have a waiting time before the same person can be nudged again. Trying to get around it counts as a breach of this section.
5. Reports and restrictions
You can report someone in your room. A report keeps a copy of the room conversation at that moment — blocking after reporting means leaving the room, which would otherwise remove the basis for judgement. This record is used only for review; details are in the Privacy Policy.
A person reviews every report as quickly as possible. If you want distance right away without waiting, block the person — blocking takes effect the moment you tap it. After review we may remove the reported messages from the room or suspend the account. A suspended account cannot sign in, and we explain the suspension and the reason at the support address.
Breaking section 4 may lead to a warning, a temporary restriction or account deletion, depending on how serious it is. Clear and serious breaches, such as exploitation of children, may lead to immediate account deletion. Repeated or malicious abuse of reporting is also a breach. If you disagree with a measure, write to the support address below and we will look at it again and reply.
6. Rights in what you leave
The rights in what you write and in the background photo you put up belong to you. The service uses them only as needed to show them in your room — photos are stored, resized to fit the screen, and shown to people in the same room, nothing else. We do not use them for advertising or training. You may not put up a photo that infringes someone else’s rights (section 4).
Messages do not last long. A message slowly fades and disappears one day after everyone in the room has opened the chat after it. Even otherwise, it disappears 7 days after it was sent. Messages that have disappeared cannot be seen again in the chat, and we do not bring them back to show you. Recovery records and copies attached to reports made before a message disappeared may remain for the periods in the Privacy Policy.
If you leave a room before your messages disappear, they stay in the room until they do — the conversation also belongs to the others. The others see only your name, and your seat (colour) is gone. If you want everything gone, delete your account — your messages and nudge records are then deleted too.
7. Purchases
Jelly shapes and accessories are decoration only and do not affect how the room works. Every feature works without buying anything.
Once bought, an item stays with your account — through leaving and rejoining rooms and changing devices. If it does not appear after reinstalling the app, tap Restore purchases. The price shown in the payment sheet is the actual price, and payment is made through Apple In-App Purchase on iPhone and Google Play billing on Android.
If you delete your account, the right to use its items goes with it. If you sign up again with the same Apple account (iPhone) or the same Google account (Android) and tap Restore purchases, you can use those purchases again. Deleting your account is not a cancellation or refund — please ask for a refund through the withdrawal procedure below.
A purchased item goes into your closet and can be used as soon as payment completes (supply begins at that moment). You can try items on your jelly in the shop before buying, and when you tap buy we show the withdrawal limitation below before payment.
Withdrawal and refunds
- In principle you may withdraw from a purchase within 7 days of the day you could review the contract (the day of payment). If supply starts later, the period counts from when supply starts.
- However, because items are digital content supplied as soon as you pay, withdrawal may be limited under Article 17(2)(5) of the Korean Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce where we have told you in advance, as above, and let you try the item first.
- If an item differs from what was shown or from the contract, you may withdraw within 3 months of receiving it, and within 30 days of when you learned (or could have learned) of it (same Act, Article 17(3)).
- How to request — request a refund from Apple (reportaproblem.apple.com, iPhone) or from your Google Play order history (play.google.com/store/account/orderhistory, Android), or tell us at the support address below. We also accept and handle withdrawals and purchase complaints sent to us.
- Refunds — where withdrawal is allowed by law, we refund within 3 business daysof the withdrawal (same Act, Article 18). Because Apple or Google took the payment, the refund is normally made by that company cancelling the payment; if that cannot meet the deadline, we refund you directly. If we are late, we pay the late-payment compensation set by the same Act. Apple’s or Google’s procedures do not limit your legal rights.
Cancellation of purchases by minors
- If a minor paid without the consent of a legal guardian (such as a parent), the minor or the guardian may cancel the payment (Korean Civil Act, Articles 5 and 140). This cancellation is a separate right from the withdrawal above, so the withdrawal deadline and limitation do not apply to it. However, it may not be possible to cancel if the guardian consented to the payment (including where consent can be inferred even though it was not stated).
- Once cancelled, the payment is treated as never having been made (Civil Act, Article 141). We refund the full amount paid and take the item back from the closet. We do not charge for, or deduct from the refund, the time the item was used.
- How to request — as with withdrawal above, use Apple’s or Google’s refund request, or tell us at the support address below. When you tell us, please say which payment it is, and that the person who paid was a minor at the time and the guardian did not consent. If we need anything more to confirm it, we ask only for what is strictly necessary.
- Refunds — we refund in the same way and within the same deadline as withdrawal refunds above (within 3 business days of the cancellation).
Even if we stop selling an item, we do not take it back from people who already bought it. It only leaves the shop and stays in your closet.
Buying an item gives you the right to use it within this service. The rights in the artwork and design remain with us, and the item cannot be moved outside the service or transferred to others.
8. Interruption, change and end of the service
We may pause the service for unavoidable reasons such as maintenance or replacement of equipment, power cuts or failures, overload, or natural disasters. We announce planned maintenance in advance, and for unexpected failures we restore service as quickly as we can and explain what happened.
The service is still at an early stage. We may change features when operations or technology require it, and announce the reason, timing and effect of changes that are unfavourable or important to you in advance.
If we end the service, we will announce the reason, the schedule and what happens to purchased items at least 30 days in advance, and let you download your data before then. If we can no longer provide purchased items as promised, we will refund or take other steps as required by law and the contract.
9. Liability
If you suffer loss through our fault, we compensate you as required by law. Responsibility for what users say and do to each other lies with the person who said or did it. This section does not exclude liability we have under the law.
We are not liable, where we are not at fault by intent or negligence, for loss caused by force majeure such as natural disasters, failures caused by your own fault, or unlawful access or malicious software by third parties.
If you break these terms and cause loss to us or others, you must compensate for it.
This service is not an emergency service. If you hear about an emergency in a room, contact your local emergency number (for example 911 in the US, or 112 and 119 in South Korea) yourself. Messages disappear and cannot be recovered later.
10. Changes to these terms
We post changes on this page 7 days before they take effect. Changes that are unfavourable to you or important are announced 30 days in advance and also sent to your email. If you do not agree to a change, you can end the agreement at any time by deleting your account, and not agreeing does not by itself limit rights you already have under the law.
There is only one case in which you are treated as agreeing to changed terms without separately agreeing: when we have told you individually by email the change, the effective date, how to refuse, and that not refusing will count as agreement, given you at least 30 days to respond, and you have not refused by the effective date. Refusing takes one email to the support address. We do not apply this to changes that are only posted on this page.
Changes that reduce your rights, increase your obligations or change paid terms require renewed consent in the app.
11. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. If a dispute arises about the service, we will first try in good faith to resolve it together, and otherwise it will be resolved in the court with jurisdiction under the Korean Civil Procedure Act. This does not take away mandatory consumer protections of the country where you live.
12. Notices and personal information
Notices for all users are posted on this site for at least 7 days. Matters that significantly affect one person are sent separately to their email. How we handle personal information is set out in the Privacy Policy.

About this version
Effective date — 2026-11-07 (announced 2026-10-23). What changed from the previous version (2026-10-08):
- Section 7 — payment on the Android app (Google Play), restoring by signing up again with the same Google account, and Google Play refund requests.
- Section 7 — cancellation of purchases by minors is now set out separately from withdrawal: not subject to the withdrawal deadline and limitation; once cancelled the payment is treated as never made, so we refund the full amount and take the item back; how to request and the refund deadline.
